New year, new commitments, new routines!!

First, I know I promised to be better at writing on this thing, and I haven't been. And I know it's already January 5th, but all of my new year's commitments start today. My goal is to write on here at least once a week this year. So, hopefully I'm able to accomplish that. I will post pictures later this week too. I know I've been bad about that!

Second, I've made some commitments for this year. My dear friend Erica (lives down the street) my baby sister Becky, and myself, are going to be training to run the Atlanta half-marathon at Thanksgiving this year. That gives us 10.5 months to train. I'm way out of shape, and am about 50 pounds heavier than I'd like to be, so this will be quite a challenge for me. However, with the commitments I've made to training with Erica I think I can stick to it. We start training tonight, on level ground. We will add different routes with hills as we are able to run farther. I'm not even sure I can run a mile right now, so we are going to work on some interval training to build up our endurance.

Third, I've made the commitment to be the cookie mom for Erin's brownie girl scout troop. I know cookie sales is how they do a lot of their fundraising in order to benefit their troop and Girl Scouts in general. I really don't mind donating my time since the troop leader donates a ton of her own time and resources in order for the girls to be able to experience scouts. Let's hope this years sale is successful!

The girls are both in cheerleading right now as well. Tball season ended right before the holidays, and they have their first cheerleading event this weekend for the basketball teams. I hope this helps boost Hayley's confidence in herself. She can be quite shy at times, but I also know she has it in her to be loud. I hope to capture some on video to add to this blog too. I just have to figure out how to get my videos on here.

For now, I'm out!

Elizabeth
